~Product Review...YSL VOLUPTÉ SHEER CANDY~

                                                 ~YSL VOLUPTÉ SHEER CANDY~

YSL's Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balm is literally a touch of pure bliss for your lips! This is a product I purchased in the beginning of summer and had automatically become my summer lip staple. Now I had been in the market to pickup a YSL lipstick not only because of the gorgeous packaging but because of the fantastic reviews I would always read. However, when I came across the Sheer Candy range of lip products from the line my eyes were instantly glued! I was automatically drawn to the color I ended up purchasing (04 Succulent Pomegranate). This color is described as a sheer bright pink with red undertones. I happen to LOVE bright lips lately. This past spring I was usually rocking a fuscia lip or a bright coraly peachy pink lip! But this summer I have pretty much only been wearing this product! First off, like I said, the color immediately caught my eye, but when I actually applied the product it was a rush of moisture and hydration penetrating my lips. It felt so luxurious and light, and actually as if my lips were benefiting from the product!
As I continued to do my research online I found out why my lips felt and looked so amazing. It's 1st ingredient is Hyaluronic Acid Spheres. Now for those of you who do not know Hyaluronic Acid Spheres penetrate the upper layers of the epidermis where they absorb water from the  environment, swelling and growing up to 30 times their initial volume. Basically, it will make you look like you just got your lips done! And without fail, while wearing this product I had gotten asked if I had gotten my lips injected (twice). FYI- hyaluronic acid is also used in fillers such as botox and restalyne. There are also fabulous antioxidants in this product such as Rosemary Extract, Pomegranate Extract, and Gamma Oryzanol blend and Candellila Resin which protect your lips from free radicals (AKA the gross, polluted air).
All said and done, this is a must-have lip product, not just because of the work of art packaging or the gorgeous colors but because of all the amazing benefits it gives your lips!
It retails for $30 and you can pick it up in Sephora, Bloomingdales, Saks or Nordstroms :)
Let me know what summer lip products you enjoy :)

Makeup Obsession of the Month...Cream Eye Shadows

                                        ~Cream Eye Shadows~

I have been a huge fan of cream eye shadows lately. I really started loving the look of cream eye shadows when I saw Kristen Stewart's makeup on a red carpet event months ago! Stewart's makeup artist Beau Nelson said he loves to start off with a cream shadow as a base and then usually add some powder on top!
I love the idea of cream eye shadows for three reasons: 1) the look/finish of them 2) the simplicity of the application 3) the color pay off. I think when anyone wears a cream eyeshadow particularly in a darker color say a bronze, the finish is so sultry and sexy. I think cream eye shadows add intensity to the look of the eye that a powder eyeshadow cannot usually achieve.
I think it is safe to say the most coveted cream eye shadows would be the
Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eye shadows. However, at $36 a pop I was determined to find a dupe! And that I did...Now being that I have never owned a Chanel cream eyeshadow I can't truly do a compare and contrast. But I will give you a full review of the Maybelline Color Tattoo by EyeStudio.
I had purchased the colors #25 Bad to the Bronze and #35 Tough as Taupe. They were actually buy one get one 50% off at CVS so one for $6.99 and one for $3.50 was totally worth it! The product is described as a cream gel, and that it is. I simply applied this with my finger and smoothed it all over my eye to create a smokey look. I then applied a tiny bit of liquid liner on the top of my lash line and some mascara and I was good to go! Now Maybelline claims that the product lasts 24hrs. Lets be real, I don't know how any makeup product could truly last 24hrs. However, I do know that I wore this product for a night out (#25 Bad to the Bronze), and it did in fact last the whole night with minimal creasing. Any makeup product that lasts the whole night or day is good to me! I would describe this color as a "bronzy" brownish gold tone with slight shimmer. It really complimented my green eyes. I would describe #35 Tough as Taupe to be quite the opposite. It is a matte purple toned-gray color with no shimmer. Both are beautiful but very different! I personally love #25 Bad to the Bronze the best! I hope you guys try these cream eye shadows or any other brand and let me know what you think!

~Summer Nails~

Having polished nails is a must no matter what season you are in! However, in summer there are so many fun, bright colors you get to choose from! Summer is definitely my favorite time of year to try out any sort of trend with my nails! I am currently loving the "accent nail" trend. It has been popping up all over the blogger community as well as on many celebrities. Having that accent nail is just a fun way to add a little edge and style to your typical manicure. I particularly like using pinks and glitter for this look! Below are some pictures of ways I incorporated this trend!

Product I'm Loving...Zinc Cream

                                                       ~Zinc Cream~

I wanted to start this first official blog post off by giving you all a comprehensive review of a product I recently purchased. Let me first start off that I am a skincare fanatic! I am 100% obsessed with skin and skincare products. I will do anything to achieve a clear, glowing complexion. That being said, much research usually goes into a product before I actually purchase it. I like to know what I am spending my money on and is it really worth it? I am not biased to any particular brand nor do I just stick with high or low end products. The product has to work and do what it says it is going to do!
This brings me to the first product review on Tales of Teeni...get ready for it...Zinc Cream from the brand Margarite. Now like I said earlier, usually before I buy a skincare product a lot of research as already been involved. However, this was an impulse buy. I had never heard of this brand before. Now, in this scenario nine times out of ten I would simply look at it, read the ingredients and then go home and review the product online and see if I actually wanted to go back and buy it. In this case I did not need to do any of that for 2 major reasons; the ingredients in the product and the price.
Being a skincare junkie I know how beneficial Zinc is for the skin. It is known to help with acne, redness, rashes, dermatitis, psoriasis and a multitude of other skin issues. When I saw that this product contained 10% Zinc I was sold on that factor alone. As I continued reading the box I saw there was another favorite acne fighter of mine...Sulfur! Sulfur is one of the BEST acne fighting ingredients, and to be honest its not the easiest to find. Most acne medications and spot treatments contain either Salicylic Acid or Benzyl Peroxide. I am not a huge fan of Benzyl Peroxide as I have sensitive skin and it is known to be quite harsh. Salicylic is a good acne solution, but in my opinion does not  ever come close to comparing to Sulfur. Sulfur dries up any blemish overnight! This product contains 4% Sulfur.
The last thing I LOVE about this product is that it is all natural! I try to use products that are as natural as possible. Our skin is our largest organ and everything we put on it gets absorbed into our bloodstream.
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of products I use and love that are not natural but if I can I try to find a natural alternative :)
I will end this blog post by saying this product is somewhat of a miracle one. At a retail price of $10.99 you can not not buy this cream (double  negative for ya)! It is simply amazing. I use it every single night before bed and wake up with my skin looking 10x better than the day before. The one downside to this product is that it is tinted a tan color. So it does look like you have some dirt on your face lol. However, you are going to bed when you use this so it really does not matter. I will provide a link where you can purchase it on amazon;
